RIVER PATHS AND MOUNTAIN RELICS
Mountain Avenue Demonstration Project, Tucson, Arizona, 1992
Twelve block installation of stone and exposed aggregate concrete.
The sculpture is focused on the geology that surrounds and underlies the city of Tucson. It consists of a meandering exposed-aggregate ribbon of gravels from the local washes inlaid in the sidewalk, accompanied by boulder arrangements of a variety of local stones in the landscaping. Whenever the ribbon passes a stone piece, it does a little dance.
